The Hardware Design Engineering role sits at the intersection of wireless silicon, and the rest of the SoCs in our products. You will be responsible for the end-to-end hardware design lifecycle of wireless subsystems — from architecture definition and schematic design through bring-up, characterization, and production validation. You will work closely with internal silicon, software, and platform teams as well as external chipset vendors to integrate wireless SoCs into Apple products. The role requires a strong foundation in digital interfaces, power distribution networks, firmware and system-level debug. You should be comfortable working in the lab, writing bare-metal firmware for hardware validation, and traveling internationally (~15%) to support build and bring-up activities.

Minimum Qualifications
BS and a minimum of 10 years relevant industry experience
Experience with digital communication interfaces (PCIe, MIPI, I2C, SPI, UART) including specification, integration and bring-up validation.
Experience with power supply/power management and power distribution networks design and simulation
Hands on debug experience with usage of modern lab equipment (DSOs, Logic Analyzers, Protocol Analyzers)

Preferred Qualifications
MSEE preferred with some years of relevant experience
Experience in writing software routines and test scripts
Experience with mobile and/or embedded processors and memory systems
Experience with circuit schematic capture/layout
Strong desire to investigate system level issues and drive problems to closure in a team-based environment with a proactive demeanor
Experience interacting with offshore manufacturing partners
Successful track record of delivering highly innovative communication products
Experience with high volume, low power, mobile products
