Where Welcome to the Jungle is genuinely strong

If you are job-hunting inside Welcome to the Jungle's core markets and you care about evaluating a company before applying, it is the best surface for that. The branded profiles are genuinely useful when they exist (photos of the office, who the team is, what the company says about itself), and the editorial side is one of the few career-content operations that does not read like SEO bait.

The trade-off is honest: those branded profiles exist because the employer paid for them. If you treat the platform as an editorial showcase rather than a complete index of the European job market, it works really well.

Where Miserably Unemployed fits

Miserably Unemployed has no pay-to-place. Every company we have a clean listing for gets the same surface area, ranked by recency and filtered by the criteria you pick. We pull from the ATSes most European employers already use (Greenhouse, Ashby, Lever, Workday, Recruitee, SmartRecruiters, Personio, Teamtailor, and others), so a company hiring through a standard tenant is on the board whether or not it has a paid profile anywhere.

For company context we generate a profile per company from public sources (Wikipedia, the company site, public filings) plus a generated description. It is not magazine-quality, but it is consistent across every company on the board and it does not bias toward who paid.
