About the Role
Join an early-stage commerce SaaS team as a founding product engineer, owning product work from identifying customer problems through design, implementation, and launch. You will work closely with merchants and help shape both the product experience and the engineering foundations as the team grows.
What You'll Do
Take features from problem definition to production, working across frontend and backend as needed.
Speak directly with customers, review how they use the product, and use their feedback to understand their needs.
Make product and interaction decisions, including when requirements are not fully specified.
Build polished, thoughtful user interfaces with a high bar for product craft.
Keep the codebase clear, maintainable, and ready to support a growing engineering team.
What We're Looking For
Four to eight years of product engineering experience, with examples of independently owning a feature from problem definition through launch.
Hands-on experience building and maintaining both frontend and backend systems with TypeScript, React, and Node.js.
A computer science degree and strong computer science fundamentals.
Experience at a growth-stage startup, preferably one with venture backing, and a strong engineering culture.
Demonstrated product and UI craft, supported by examples of well-considered interfaces.
Experience with AI-assisted software development workflows.
Commerce or e-commerce experience is a plus. A founder background or exceptional professional or educational experience is also valuable.
Compensation & Benefits
Base salary is $150,000 to $350,000 annually. Visa sponsorship is not available.

This is an on-site role based in San Francisco, United States.
