Support Worker | MacIntyre
It’s a Tuesday afternoon. Maybe you’re at the pool, maybe the kitchen is full of the smell of something you’ve cooked together, maybe you’re on the bus into town for a coffee. You’re not doing it for someone. You’re beside them, cheering them on while they make it happen.
That’s support work at MacIntyre. You’ll be matched to one service and get to know the people who live there properly: what makes them laugh, what gets under their skin, what a good day looks like for them in particular.
Some shifts are a celebration, when someone achieves something they’ve worked hard for. Others are quieter, a steady and reassuring presence while someone pushes through something that feels uncomfortable. Underneath it all is one idea: helping people live lives that make sense to them, connected to their community and built around their own choices and interests. We call it a gloriously ordinary life, and it’s why MacIntyre exists.
Never worked in care? You might be more ready than you think.
If you’ve spent years behind a bar, on a shop floor, at a hotel desk or in a warehouse, you already have the instincts that matter: reading a room, staying calm, and treating people with patience and respect.
Already in health and social care?
You know how staffing and time pressures can shape a shift. Here, the focus is on having the space to build real relationships with the people you support.
Wherever you’re starting from, we’ll take you the rest of the way, with full training from your first day
