About the role

  • The Director of Global Data Center Sourcing and Partnerships is responsible for building and managing the supplier ecosystem that underpins SPYRE’s data center capacity and infrastructure brokerage business. The role owns sourcing of new supplier relationships, ongoing supplier outreach and account management, maintenance of SPYRE’s central inventory of supplier capacity, and technical, financial, and development diligence on prospective sites. The Director of Global Data Center Sourcing and Partnerships also leads contract and business term negotiations with suppliers, directly shaping the terms that govern SPYRE’s access to capacity on behalf of its clients. Specific priorities, target supplier segments, and performance expectations will be communicated by SPYRE leadership and may be modified from time to time in SPYRE’s sole discretion. This position reports to the Chief Strategy Officer.

What you'll do

  • Identify and cultivate relationships with new data center suppliers and developers, expanding SPYRE’s network of available capacity domestically and globally.
  • Conduct regular, proactive outreach to existing suppliers to capture updates on inventory availability, pricing, timelines, and project status.
  • Own and maintain a clean, accurate, and continuously updated central inventory of supplier capacity across all markets and site types, and partner with internal teams to ensure the supplier inventory integrates cleanly with systems, deal tracking, and reporting.
  • Co-create supplier enablement materials with Sales Operations team.
  • Lead negotiation of business terms with suppliers, including referral fee structures, exclusivity, pricing, and contractual protections, working with SPYRE leadership and counsel as needed.
  • Conduct technical diligence on prospective sites, including review of reference architecture, power infrastructure, cooling design, and construction timelines to assess project viability.
  • Evaluate financial and developmental diligence materials — including data rooms, pro formas, and project schedules — to identify risk factors and validate supplier claims.
  • Assess capital markets and credit underwriting considerations for supplier and developer counterparties, including financing structure, creditworthiness, and deal-closing likelihood
  • Represent SPYRE at industry events, conferences, and supplier engagements to build brand presence and credibility within the supplier ecosystem.
  • Collaborate with SPYRE leadership on supplier strategy, target segment planning, and expansion into new markets or geographies.

Qualifications

  • 5+ years of experience in data center development and/or site selection. Capital markets, infrastructure procurement, or other exposure to a closely related field is a plus.
  • Deep understanding of the data center landscape, including developer types, power infrastructure trends, market dynamics, and supply chain constraints (e.g., turbines, switchgear, transformers, cooling systems).
  • Familiarity with standard commercial contract structures - indemnification, exclusivity, ROFR, non-circumvention, commission terms – and demonstrated experience negotiating commercial or contractual terms, ideally in an infrastructure, real estate, or capital-intensive industry
  • Working knowledge of capital markets fundamentals — sufficient to evaluate credit underwriting requirements, financing structures, and counterparty risk.
  • Technical fluency sufficient to review data rooms and interpret site viability from engineering, power, and construction documentation.
  • Strong business acumen and negotiation skills, with the ability to structure terms that protect SPYRE’s interests while maintaining supplier goodwill.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to convey SPYRE’s partnership vision externally and communicate business objectives credibly at the internal leadership level.
  • Existing relationships within the data center developer, supplier, or capital markets community strongly preferred.
  • Willingness to travel as required to support supplier relationships and industry events.
