Pay
HK$97,787 to HK$116,855 (HGPS point 34 to 39) per month including Monthly Allowance
Up to 15% of total basic salary (after deducting the contribution of Mandatory Provident Fund by Hospital Authority) as end-of-contract gratuity may be offered to contract staff upon completion of the contract subject to satisfactory performance.
Key Responsibilities:
1.
Assist Department Manager in departmental operational policies development, service planning, risk management, training & development plans, and quality improvement.
2.
Plan and coordinate technological development to meet service needs.
3.
Take charge of a clinical laboratory.
4.
Co-ordinate responsibilities among section supervisors in the division.
5.
Supervise the daily operation of the laboratory providing Chemical Pathology services.
6.
Attend hospital and departmental meetings.
7.
Participate in the daily Chemical Pathology services.
8.
Prepare the laboratory to attain accreditation
9.
Carry out laboratory managerial duties including human resources management, budgetary planning and procurement.
10.
Plan and monitor new services.
11.
Evaluate new methodologies and instruments.
12.
Train medical laboratory technical staff.
13.
Control, maintain and improve the quality of laboratory services and safety standards of laboratory services.
14
Co-ordinate clinical training for students from academic institutions.
Entry Requirements:
1.
MSc in Medical Laboratory Science or equivalent; and

2.
Be a registered Part I (full registration) Medical Laboratory Technologist and have a valid Practicing Certificate under the Allied Health Professions Ordinance.
3.
At least 7 years’ experience in Medical Technologist rank.

1.
Possession of higher qualification in relevant profession / health care management.
2.
Strong leadership skills and possession of experience in leading teams, managing projects and service development.
3.
Experience and interest in quality management and staff training.
4.
Good communication and interpersonal skills.
5.
Strong interest towards improving management system of the department.
6.
Knowledge, expertise and experience in Laboratory Accreditation.

“Discuss the strategy for planning a chemical pathology department to meet laboratory and hospital accreditation standards, supported by your experience.”
