Hours/ Working Pattern: 5 hours per week, Monday – Friday 39 weeks per year term time only, plus training days.
Wheatcroft Community Primary School are seeking a dedicated and enthusiastic General Teaching Assistant to join our primary school for 5 days per week on a fixed-term basis. This is an exciting opportunity to support pupils in a nurturing and inclusive learning environment.
he successful candidate will work closely with teachers and other support staff to provide high quality classroom support. They will help to promote pupils' academic, social and emotional development, ensuring all children can access learning and achieve their potential.
The successful candidate will:
• Be patient, understanding and compassionate in their approach to supporting children.
• Have experience of working with pupils with SEND, including adapting support to meet individual
needs.
• Demonstrate a good understanding of inclusive practice and strategies that help pupils engage
successfully in learning.
• Have experience of working with primary-aged children more generally, either within a school or a
similar setting.
• Build positive relationships with pupils, staff and parents/carers.
• Be able to work effectively as part of a team while also using their own initiative.
• Support pupils' wellbeing, confidence and independence.
• Be committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children.
