Lake Hume Resort Nominees 1 Ray Welsh Drive Lake Hume Resort Village NSW 3691 Full-Time Chef Salary: $79,423 + Superannuation About the Role The person we are looking for is a highly talented and experienced Chef who can come on board to cook and provide excellent food and service within the kitchen, adhering to high standards in food safety. Key Responsibilities * Develop menus and calculate food and labour costs and pricing for food items. * Find out what food is needed for service and order, collect and handle food and equipment. * Prepare, cook and present a variety of dishes to a consistent, high standard. * Manage, lead and instruct kitchen personnel, such as cooks, kitchen helpers and trainees. * Always check the quality and presentation of food. * Keep the kitchen clean, safe and hygienic according to food safety and workplace health and safety laws. * Control food storage, food waste and amount of food to reduce expenses. * Select and train staff. * Cooperate with front-of-house staff to accommodate customer needs, such as dietary requirements and special requests. About You * Experience as a Chef in a restaurant, hotel, café or other commercial kitchen. * Great understanding of cooking techniques, menu planning, food preparation and kitchen management. * Good knowledge of food safety, food hygiene and HACCP practices. * Impeccable attention to detail, and a sense of quality and food. * Excellent communication and leadership abilities. * Work efficiently under pressure in a fast-paced kitchen. * One team member who has a positive attitude and is well presented. Qualifications A Certificate III or IV in Commercial Cookery (or equivalent) is required. Additional relevant qualifications and/or experience in hospitality will be highly valued.
