Are you a qualified professional ready to take the lead on health provision within an educational setting? Join us as a Health and Wellbeing Officer, responsible for managing all aspects of medicine, first aid, and medical assistance to students and staff. This role is fundamental in creating a safe and healthy environment, demanding meticulous attention to medical protocols, statutory reporting (RIDDOR), and proactive health promotion across the academy.

If you have any questions or would like to visit the school, please contact Leah Sakaria-Flynn HR Assistant at l.sakaria-flynn@danum.outwood.com

You will be the lead professional responsible for delivering first aid and attending to the medical needs of students and staff. This involves safely collecting, storing, and administering medication. You are responsible for ensuring accident reports and RIDDOR forms are completed in accordance with the Health and Safety Policy and producing Individual Healthcare plans, PEEPs, and Risk Assessments for N Code Children.

Duties include liaising with School Health for testing and immunization programmes, promoting health initiatives (like healthy eating), and providing basic First Aid training for staff.

Candidates must hold a current First Aid qualification. A Managing Medicines qualification is desirable, or a willingness to obtain it. Essential experience includes familiarity with accident reporting, specifically RIDDOR/HSE reportable accidents.

You must exhibit excellent written and verbal communication skills, including listening skills, coupled with an excellent working knowledge of standard computer packages. The role requires the ability to work effectively as part of a team, and the capacity to work on your own initiative with a flexible and adaptable approach.

Outwood Grange Academies Trust (OGAT) places staff development at the heart of its strategy to deliver excellence, aiming to recruit, develop, and retain the best staff through the Outwood Institute of Education (OIE).
