As a PHY Cellular Firmware Engineering Intern, you will join a team responsible for the development of PHY firmware features in 4G-LTE and 5G-NR. In this role, you will (1) define features and requirements, (2) explore and propose concepts and
algorithms, (3) develop and simulate models to validate robust functionality and performance, and/or (4) contribute to power- and area-efficient implementation.
Minimum Qualifications
Currently enrolled in a M.S. or Ph.D. degree program in Electrical Engineering or equivalent.
Availability for 6 months or longer.
Solid foundations in signal processing and communication theory
Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
Solid grasp of engineering mathematics, including linear algebra, probability and random processes.
Experience with C/C++ and/or Python for algorithm development, modeling.
Strong teamwork spirit, respect for diverse viewpoints, ability to effectively communicate (in English) and work with a globally located team across different time-zones.
Eagerness to learn new things and take up new challenges.
Preferred Qualifications
In addition, candidates with strengths in one or more of the following areas will be given preference.
Familiarity with embedded firmware development for cellular PHY, including real-time constraints, DSP/vector processors, and hardware/software co-design.
Familiarity with cellular communication standards, in particular 4G-LTE and 5G-NR RAN1/RAN4, including PHY procedures.
