STOVE TECHNICIAN
Job Summary: The successful candidate will be responsible for installing and maintaining all the kitchen equipment as well other LPG operated equipment on property. He/She is also required to work in conjunction with the Executive Chef and Food & Beverage Manager to address operational concerns related to equipment.
Responsibilities:
- Performing daily inspections and maintenance of all gas operated equipment as per manufacturer's recommendations.
- Creating preventative maintenance schedules.
- Training all operators of kitchen and other gas operated equipment.
- Installing and replacing all gas operated equipment as instructed.
- Making recommendations on relevant stock of spare parts for all gas operated equipment.
- Diagnosing and solving problems relating to the operation of kitchen equipment, other gas equipment and systems.
- Performing installations and servicing of typical kitchen equipment and other gas systems.
- Identifying specific parts and components and suggest relevant replacements.
- Performing tasks that involve lifting loads with and without assistance.
- Performing tasks that require long periods of standing, bending, climbing and working at varying heights.
Qualifications:
- A minimum of a high school diploma and/or a certificate from a recognised Vocational Training Institution.
- Basic computer literacy and internet knowledge is preferred.
- A level of skill and/or technical competence equivalent to at least Level II HEART Trust NTA certification.
- Knowledgeable in the precautions and best practices related to handling LPG and other flammable gases and liquids.
- Working knowledge of different types of kitchen and other gas equipment.
- The ability to prepare simple reports.
