This includes our Leadership Journeys, which equip mid-career women with tools, along with peer, mentor and coach support, to use their voice, expertise and leadership for impact. It includes driving conversations and partnerships with senior leaders in health institutions to prioritize gender equality. It also includes convening global conversations about the importance of women’s leadership and amplifying the voices of national and global health leaders, including at the WomenLift Health Conference.

WomenLift Health is seeking a Senior Global Fellows Manager, Cross-Regional to work under the direction of the Global Fellows Lead, Cross-Regional, and alongside WomenLift Health’s African hub teams, contributing to the design and implementation of both the Africa and the cross-regional Global Fellows strategies. Their focus will be on serving the contextualized needs of women leaders based in Africa and connecting them into a powerful global community with close ties to women leaders around the world.
The successful candidate will bring strong leadership skills and the ability to manage projects and people effectively. They will bring a high level of emotional and cross-cultural intelligence and be adept at building deep relationships across a variety of lived experiences and backgrounds. They understand the value of co-creation with team members and are able to work independently. They have strong written and oral communication skills and are proficient at synthesizing and organizing information. They bring strong end-to-end event design, implementation and communication skills, both in-person and virtual. They bring an understanding of, and interest in, public and global health, and embrace a growth mindset. ROLES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
The WomenLift Health Global Fellows community is growing rapidly and is projected to exceed 1,000 women by the end of 2027. The Senior Global Fellows Manager, Cross-Regional, will work under the direction of the Global Fellows Lead, Cross-Regional, and closely with the African hub Directors and Global Fellows Senior Managers in other regions. The responsibilities include:
- Implement the Global Fellows workplan for Africa that aligns with and contributes to the cross-regional Global Fellows strategy.
- Collaborate with Africa hub colleagues to transition women seamlessly from the Leadership Journey into the Global Fellows community, including facilitating in-person sessions during the LiftOff events.
- Build relationships with Africa-based Global Fellows and track their progress, opportunities and challenges.
- Lead the process to collect and share Africa-based Global Fellows’ stories of impact.
- Support Global Fellows to sustain progress on the implementation of their Health Leadership Projects (HLPs) by sharing expertise and facilitating continued access to WomenLift Health’s network and resources.
- Encourage Global Fellows to connect with their peers within and across regions, collaborating closely with the Global Fellows Lead, Cross-Regional, and Global Fellows Senior Managers in other regions to foster and strengthen these relationships.
- Work with the cross-regional communications team to raise the visibility of Global Fellows, including amplifying their publications and speaking engagements and highlighting their professional advancement
- Support the creation, moderation and engagement of one or more cross-regional Communities of Practice on the Leadership Hub.
- Identify and engage internal and external partners for Global Fellows events.
- Prioritize, manage and disburse the annual Global Fellows budget for the African hubs, with budget sign-off by the relevant hub Directors, working with operations staff to manage contracts with local partners and vendors for events. Work with the Global Fellows Lead, Cross-Regional, to determine the use of the cross-regional Global Fellows budget.
- Manage and maintain the Global Fellows database.
EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE (REQUIRED)
- Master’s degree in a relevant field, and a relevant professional qualification or membership of a relevant professional organization.
- Minimum of 9 years of relevant experience with a Master’s degree, or 11 years of relevant experience without one, in global or public health, gender equality, social development or human-centered training.
- Demonstrated experience managing and engaging an alumni, fellowship or professional network community, including designing in-person and virtual events and sustaining member engagement over time.

- Depth of experience, integrity, maturity and confidence befitting a Senior Manager; ability to learn and adapt, and to give and receive feedback.
- Advanced technology skills, including demonstrated experience using the MS Office suite (spreadsheets, PowerPoint, Outlook); social media platforms such as LinkedIn, X, Facebook, Instagram and WhatsApp; videoconferencing platforms such as Zoom, Teams and Google Meet; and program and task management tools such as Smartsheet, Monday.com, Trello and Figma; ease in learning new programs.
- Demonstrated success in following through and completing projects in a timely manner.
- Advanced analytical skills and proficiency in synthesizing complex information.
- Ability to design systems and processes, with a keen eye for detail.
- Ability to prioritize, multi-task and delegate work to others.
- Ability to take initiative and ownership of projects.
- Ability to exercise sound judgment routinely and independently, with minimal supervision.
EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE (PREFERRED)
- Experience with cohort-based programs.
- Experience working with alumni of a leadership development, fellowship or scholarship program, including supporting alumni-led initiatives, peer learning or communities of practice.
- Lived or work experience in another WomenLift Health geography.
