Financial Controller / Business Controller

Based in Spain, OK Company is a well-established manufacturing business with approximately €30 million in annual turnover. We're now looking for a Financial Controller to play a key role in the next phase of our growth and development.

About the Role:

This is not a traditional reporting-focused Financial Controller position.

We're looking for someone who enjoys understanding how a business operates, partnering with operational leaders and using financial information to influence decisions and improve performance.

Working closely with the leadership team, you will help drive better commercial and operational outcomes through meaningful analysis, insight and challenge. You will be visible across the business, working with manufacturing, operations and functional teams to understand the drivers behind financial performance and identify opportunities for improvement.

This is an excellent opportunity for someone who wants to move beyond producing reports and become a genuine business partner.

This role is not only about reporting results. It is about influencing them.

Role Responsibilities:

• Lead and continuously improve budgeting, forecasting and financial reporting processes

• Analyse financial performance, identify key business trends and provide actionable recommendations

• Support monthly management reporting and year-end activities

• Partner with operational and manufacturing teams to understand business drivers and improve performance

• Analyse manufacturing costs, margins and profitability, identifying opportunities to improve efficiency and return

• Challenge assumptions and support decision-making through robust financial insight

• Drive continuous improvement initiatives, including reporting enhancements, automation and process improvements

• Support internal and external audit activities

• Collaborate with colleagues across the wider Zotefoams Group on international projects and best practice initiatives

• Build strong relationships across the business and act as a trusted finance partner to operational leaders
  

What you'll need:

We are open to candidates from a variety of backgrounds, including Financial Controlling, Manufacturing Finance, Finance Business Partnering, Management Accounting, Audit or Operations Finance.

You'll likely bring:

• Degree in Finance, Accounting, Business Administration or a related discipline

• Experience in a Financial Controller, Business Controller, Finance Business Partner, Management Accountant or similar role

• Strong understanding of financial and management accounting principles

• Experience of budgeting, forecasting and financial performance analysis

• Experience working within a manufacturing, industrial or operational environment

• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills

• Advanced Excel skills

• Experience using reporting and business intelligence tools such as Power BI

• Good English communication skills and confidence working within an international business environment

Desirable

• Manufacturing, industrial or production-based business experience

• Previous audit experience

• Experience using Microsoft Dynamics 365, Navision or similar ERP systems

• Experience supporting operational leaders and driving business performance improvements
