Role Summary
 

The New Product Manufacturing Engineer II Senior supports new product introduction and sustaining engineering activities for medium-complexity assemblies and product structures. Working with moderate guidance, this role develops and releases product BOMs, manages engineering changes, creates manufacturing documentation, supports managed builds, and resolves manufacturing and configuration issues.

The engineer collaborates with Engineering, Product Lifecycle Management, Manufacturing, Sourcing, suppliers, contract manufacturers, and other cross-functional teams to ensure product configuration accuracy, manufacturing readiness, and effective implementation of engineering changes.


Key Responsibilities

  • Create and release new, alternate, and replacement part numbers in TCE/Core+ and applicable lifecycle management systems.

  • Maintain part attributes, specifications, effectivity, supporting documentation, and product configuration integrity.

  • Develop, implement, and maintain BOMs for medium-complexity assemblies and product structures.

  • Serve as the NPME focal point for BOM-related changes and ensure accuracy across released configurations.

  • Execute engineering change activities, including ECOs, NSRs, ESWs, Config ESWs, OCRs, ILTRs, SPSs, and CCB actions.

  • Create and validate configuration kits, option packages, and supporting documentation in partnership with PLM.

  • Develop and validate Operation Method Sheets and other manufacturing build and test documentation.

  • Support 3D virtual product analysis, Master Layout, Digital Mock-Up, and design reviews.

  • Provide Design for Excellence feedback to improve manufacturability, quality, cost, serviceability, and cycle time.

  • Analyze excess, no-demand, and potentially obsolete inventory exposure resulting from BOM, option, and OBS changes.

  • Support OBS impact analysis, manufacturing implementation planning, and product structure updates.

  • Lead managed builds for assigned assemblies or modules and support manufacturing readiness.

  • Drive root cause and corrective action activities related to BOM, configuration, documentation, and implementation issues.

  • Provide technical support and training to internal manufacturing teams, contract manufacturers, and suppliers.

  • Document product issues, improvement opportunities, corrective actions, and lessons learned.

  • Provide informal technical and process guidance to new team members.

  • Perform other duties as assigned.
