Applied Materials, Inc., a global leader in equipment for the semiconductor industry, provides complete systems and services for a wide range of manufacturing processes in the fields of semiconductor technology, flat-panel displays, and solar cells. The Display business unit focuses on equipment systems that enable all process steps required to manufacture displays using physical vapor deposition technologies. We are currently looking for:
Role: Intern / Working Student (m/f/d) for PVD Display Engineering in Alzenau
Start: immediately
Duration: minimum 6 months
Working hours: 37.5 hours for a full-time internship or flexible, up to 20 hours per week
This is a paid position.
Areas of Responsibility
Our customers are global smartphone and flat-panel display manufacturers in the electronics industry. To help ensure the quality of high-resolution displays, you will be responsible for setting up, supporting, and conducting tests in a highly technological environment. You will gain in-depth insight into our production equipment by qualifying and further developing components and assemblies. You will also be directly involved in real development and qualification projects in collaboration with our experienced engineers.
Responsibilities :
Preparing and planning tests, e.g. internet research and material procurement
Independently conducting and evaluating tests, and presenting the results in internal development meetings (design reviews)
Setting up and designing test rigs
Collaborating with Engineering, CAE, and Process Engineering
Opportunities for on-site visits to external cooperation partners and suppliers
Qualifications
Currently studying mechanical engineering, mechatronics, or a comparable field
Basic understanding of mechanical and electrical components and test methodology
Ideally, initial practical and international experience
Interest in testing and qualifying concepts in a technical environment
Structured and independent working style, analytical skills, and ability to work in a team
Proficiency in MS Office and good German and English language skills

NoThe salary offered to a selected candidate will be based on multiple factors including location, hire grade, job-related knowledge, skills, experience, and with consideration of internal equity of our current team members. In addition to a comprehensive benefits package, candidates may be eligible for other forms of compensation such as participation in a bonus and a stock award program, as applicable.
For all sales roles, the posted salary range is the Target Total Cash (TTC) range for the role, which is the sum of base salary and target bonus amount at 100% goal achievement.
