Capabilities, Experience & Qualification Requirements

Experience

  • At least 12+ years of professional experience required
  • Experience in 1st line risk related roles with a background in risk management, process, compliance and/or controls.
  • Experience with  collections businesses would be beneficial

Essential capabilities

  • Ability to manage and deliver your own work caseload
  • Ability to understand issue descriptions and follow work procedures to investigate and interrogate matters so that accurate impact assessments can be made and advice given
  • Curiosity and an interest in problems and high degree of professional judgement
  • Following relevant Frameworks, Policies, Procedures  & Guidance when dealing with issues
  • Senior stakeholder engagement

Qualification Requirements

  • Tertiary qualified with a Degree in Business or a related discipline (risk etc) or equivalent experiential expertise.

Key Accountabilities

  • Engaging and managing senior stakeholders to implement and improve business systems and processes through the use/integration of the risk and compliance framework
  • Working with the business to implement systems and controls to manage the requirements of operational risk and compliance
  • Risk profiling: assisting to identify key risks and design of indicators to monitor
  • Designing controls: assisting to identify the right key controls to mitigate key risks and manage obligations applicable to the business in partnership with SME (if applicable) . Uplift the control environment,
  • Operational risk and regulatory obligation identification, impact assessment and change within the Division
  • Advising business leaders on the application of the operational risk and compliance management framework to evaluate risks in order to achieve business outcomes
  • Providing guidance on risk and control items including Subject Matter Expertise for the following:-
  • Risks, Obligations Events, Change, and related Policies (including Input into changes via change assessments, validating events in GRACE &oversight of closure activities
  • Remediation action plans to address any control design or operating effectiveness gaps
  • Requisitions on Management attestations, ensuring evidence is consolidated at a Sub-Divisional level
  • Relevant Risk Management Forums and/or other risk related committees as required
  • Developing and maintaining compliance plans which are owned by the Executive and consultation with risk & compliance partners,
  • Completing compliance obligations assessment
  • Uplifting risk management maturity and practices
  • Assisting in regulatory responses and regulatory engagement matters
  • Regular cadences with for management of Risk & Core Metrics
  • Providing SME Operational Risk and Compliance Policy and Framework advice and guidance to the business
  • Lead risk reviews and deep dives as appropriate. Exceptional communication with key Divisional stakeholders
