IT Deployment Technician

Position Overview:

TEKsystems is seeking an IT Deployment Technician to support a multi-phase infrastructure assessment and deployment initiative. During the initial phase

of the project, the technician will travel to various locations to perform site surveys, document existing technology environments, capture and organize photos

of infrastructure and equipment, and upload findings into SharePoint for project planning and analysis.

During subsequent phases, the technician will assist with infrastructure deployment activities, including rack and stack installations, cabling, hardware

implementation, and general technical support. This position is ideal for a hands-on IT professional who enjoys field work, technology deployments, and working directly with network and infrastructure equipment.

Phase1:

Site Survey & Documentation

Primary Responsibilities

  • Travel to assigned locations to conduct technology site surveys.
  • Capture detailed photos of existing IT infrastructure, network equipment, server racks, wiring closets, and workspace technology.
  • Upload and organize site documentation, photos, and findings into SharePoint.
  • Document existing hardware, cabling, network layouts, and technology assets.
  • Identify gaps, deficiencies, or technology needs within each location.
  • Accurately record site conditions and infrastructure requirements.
  • Communicate findings to project managers and technical teams.
  • Maintain organized documentation and ensure all required information is collected during site visits.

Phase 2:

Infrastructure Deployment & Installation

Primary Responsibilities

  • Perform rack and stack installations for network and infrastructure equipment.
  • Install and organize network and power cabling.
  • Assist with deployment of new technology identified during site surveys.
  • Support switch, wireless, and hardware installations.
  • Troubleshoot basic hardware and connectivity issues.
  • Assist technical teams with infrastructure refresh and deployment activities.
  • Ensure installations follow company standards and best practices.

Required

Qualifications

  • 1+ year of IT support, deployment, field technician, or infrastructure experience.
  • Experience performing site surveys, field assessments, or technical documentation.
  • Ability to travel to multiple sites as required.
  • Comfortable taking detailed photos and documenting technical environments.
  • Experience using SharePoint or similar documentation platforms.
  • Strong attention to detail and organizational skills.
  • Basic understanding of networking and IT infrastructure.
  • Strong communication and customer service skills.
  • Ability to lift and move IT equipment as needed.

Preferred

Qualifications

  • Rack and stack experience.
  • Structured cabling experience.
  • Hardware installation experience.
  • Switch and wireless deployment experience.
  • Network infrastructure support experience.
  • Experience supporting IT deployment or refresh projects.





Job Type & Location

This is a Contract position based out of Midland, TX.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $25.00 - $30.00/hr.

Individual compensation offered for this position within this range will depend on many factors, including qualifications, skills, relevant experience, job knowledge, geographic location, internal equity, and other pertinent job-related factors.
