As a Quality and Continuous Improvement Specialist, you will work closely with various operational departments. Your mission will be to design and deploy innovative solutions aimed at reducing waste associated with poor quality, while maintaining and raising our product standards through the optimization of manufacturing processes.
Responsibilities
- Ensure and continuously improve compliance with our quality processes and best practices on a daily basis among production and project teams, using a collaborative and coaching-oriented approach;
- Provide daily support to production teams in addressing quality issues and customer complaints, as well as in conducting root cause analyses of defects and implementing corrective actions;
- Participate in internal and external audits related to ISO 9001, IECEx and ABS standards, as well as supplier/subcontractor audits when required;
- Lead continuous improvement projects, particularly in the areas of cost reduction, reduction of poor quality, process optimization and productivity improvement;
- Support Manufacturing Engineering, R&D and Procurement teams during improvement projects or drawing changes, new product introductions, supplier/material changes, and any issues related to suppliers/subcontractors;
- Facilitate and lead working groups;
- Train and coach teams on Quality and Continuous Improvement tools and methodologies;
- Demonstrate commitment to ABB’s core values of safety and integrity by taking responsibility for your own actions while caring for your colleagues and the company.
Qualifications
- Degree in Mechanical, Chemical or Industrial Engineering (or equivalent experience);
- 5 years of experience in Quality and/or Continuous Improvement;
- Knowledge of ISO 9001, ISO/IEC 80079-34 and ABS certification (an asset);
- Manufacturing experience in metal processing (strong asset);
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with a solution-oriented mindset;
- Excellent knowledge of analytical and Lean tools and methodologies (8D, 5 Whys, SPC, Ishikawa, etc.).
