Customer Service Representative - Call Center

Position Overview

We are seeking a detail-oriented and customer-focused Customer Service Representative to join a fast-paced call center environment. In this role, you will serve as the primary point of contact for customers, handling inbound inquiries, providing accurate information, and resolving issues with professionalism and empathy.

This position is ideal for individuals who excel in high-volume call environments, can navigate multiple computer systems simultaneously, and are committed to delivering exceptional customer experiences.


Key Responsibilities

  • Handle a high volume of inbound customer calls and occasional outbound follow-up calls.
  • Respond to inquiries regarding prior authorizations, account information, service requests, and other customer concerns.
  • Accurately document customer interactions and update information across multiple systems.
  • Maintain strict confidentiality while handling sensitive customer information.
  • Research and resolve customer questions while delivering a positive customer experience.
  • Navigate multiple software applications and databases during live customer interactions.
  • Ensure all information is entered accurately and efficiently.
  • Meet established quality, accuracy, and productivity standards.
  • Effectively manage call volumes ranging from approximately 50 to 100 calls per day, depending on call complexity.
  • Collaborate with internal teams to ensure timely resolution of customer concerns.

Required Qualifications

  • Minimum of 1 year of recent high-volume call center experience within the last 2-3 years.
  • Strong customer service and communication skills.
  • Ability to multitask and work across multiple computer systems simultaneously.
  • Basic computer proficiency and experience entering data accurately.
  • Stable work history with demonstrated tenure in previous positions.
  • Typing speed of 30+ WPM.
  • Ability to maintain accuracy while working in a fast-paced environment.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience supporting customers in healthcare, insurance, financial services, or other regulated industries.
  • Experience handling confidential or sensitive information.
  • Familiarity with CRM systems, case management systems, or customer databases.
  • Strong problem-solving and critical-thinking abilities.

Assessment Requirements

Candidates must successfully complete:

  • Typing Test: Minimum 30 WPM
  • Call Center Telephone Skills Assessment: Minimum score of 75%

Ideal Candidate

The ideal candidate has recent experience in a high-volume call center, demonstrates excellent customer service skills, is comfortable navigating multiple systems simultaneously, and can maintain a high level of accuracy while managing 50-100 customer interactions per day. They are reliable, detail-oriented, and committed to delivering outstanding service with every customer interaction.

Job Type & Location

This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Plymouth, MI.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $21.00 - $21.00/hr.

Individual compensation offered for this position within this range will depend on many factors, including qualifications, skills, relevant experience, job knowledge, geographic location, internal equity, and other pertinent job-related factors.
