About the Opportunity

We are seeking a Desktop & Infrastructure Engineer to serve as the technical lead for desktop engineering, endpoint management, operating system deployment, software packaging, and workstation lifecycle management within a critical Operational Technology (OT) environment.

This role combines hands-on desktop engineering responsibilities with Tier 2 infrastructure support, offering exposure to mission-critical systems that support revenue-generating operations across a major energy organization. The ideal candidate will bring strong SCCM administration experience, desktop engineering expertise, and a solid foundation in Windows infrastructure technologies.

What You'll Do

Desktop Engineering & Endpoint Management

  • Serve as the primary engineer for endpoint and workstation management platforms.
  • Lead SCCM/MECM administration, including imaging, software deployment, patch management, and compliance reporting.
  • Design, maintain, and improve desktop operating system standards and configurations.
  • Manage workstation lifecycle initiatives including hardware refreshes, imaging, deployment, and retirement.
  • Package, test, and deploy software applications across industrial and OT environments.
  • Support endpoint security technologies and cybersecurity compliance initiatives.
  • Evaluate and implement enhancements that improve endpoint reliability, performance, and user experience.
  • Manage specialized OT software deployments and licensing requirements.

Infrastructure & Tier 2 Support

  • Participate in Tier 2 support for OT infrastructure and operational technology environments.
  • Troubleshoot and resolve escalated incidents involving servers, Active Directory, virtualization, and network services.
  • Support Windows Server, Active Directory, Group Policy, DNS, DHCP, and VMware environments.
  • Assist with network infrastructure support including switches, routers, firewalls, and wireless technologies.
  • Perform root cause analysis and implement long-term corrective solutions.
  • Support infrastructure maintenance, upgrades, and incident response activities.

Process Improvement & Automation

  • Develop PowerShell scripts and automation solutions to streamline operational tasks.
  • Create and maintain technical documentation, standards, and procedures.
  • Identify opportunities for process improvement and operational efficiency.
  • Support technology refresh and migration initiatives.
  • Collaborate with engineering, cybersecurity, and operations teams to deliver scalable solutions.

Required Qualifications

  • 5+ years of experience in Desktop Engineering, Endpoint Management, Systems Administration, or Infrastructure Support.
  • Strong experience administering SCCM/MECM in enterprise environments.
  • Experience managing operating system images and workstation deployments.
  • Experience supporting Windows desktop and server environments.
  • Knowledge of:
    • Active Directory
    • Group Policy
    • DNS
    • DHCP
    • Windows Server
  • Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills.
  • Experience with PowerShell scripting and automation.
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced operational environment.
  • Strong communication and collaboration skills.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience supporting Operational Technology (OT), industrial, manufacturing, or critical infrastructure environments.
  • Experience with Intune, Workspace ONE, or similar endpoint management platforms.
  • Application packaging experience using MSI and EXE installers.
  • Experience with VMware virtualization technologies.
  • Knowledge of networking concepts including routing, switching, TCP/IP, and firewalls.
  • Experience with endpoint security and vulnerability remediation.
  • Industry certifications such as:
    • Microsoft Certifications
    • CompTIA Network+
    • CompTIA Security+
    • VMware Certifications
    • Cisco Certifications

Job Type & Location

This is a Contract position based out of Denver, CO.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $56.00 - $75.00/hr.

Individual compensation offered for this position within this range will depend on many factors, including qualifications, skills, relevant experience, job knowledge, geographic location, internal equity, and other pertinent job-related factors.
