Liquid Personnel is recruiting an Adult’s Social Worker to join its client’s Safeguarding Triage and Urgent Response team, based in Bath and North East Somerset. This is an excellent opportunity to work within a specialist Adult Social Care service responsible for managing safeguarding concerns and urgent requests for care and support.
The successful candidate will be part of a supportive and experienced multidisciplinary team, delivering high-quality, strengths-based social work interventions that promote independence, wellbeing, and positive outcomes for adults with care and support needs. Working within a fast-paced environment, you will be responsible for gathering information, assessing risk, making safeguarding decisions, and ensuring individuals are protected, supported, and empowered through effective multi-agency working.
This role requires a confident practitioner with excellent safeguarding knowledge, strong assessment skills, and the ability to make timely and defensible decisions in complex situations.
What will your responsibilities be?
- Working directly with adults at risk to establish their preferred outcomes in relation to safeguarding concerns.
- Gathering relevant and necessary information to support decision-making and determine appropriate safeguarding responses.
- Assessing safeguarding referrals and making recommendations regarding outcomes and next steps.
- Undertaking strengths-based Care Act assessments for adults and carers where required.
- Participating in duty functions, responding to concerns of abuse, neglect, and urgent support needs from members of the public and professionals.
- Managing an allocated caseload, ensuring timely progression and effective case management.
- Applying the principles of Making Safeguarding Personal and ensuring individuals remain at the centre of decision-making.
- Assessing and managing risk, ensuring appropriate action is taken to reduce harm and promote wellbeing.
- Working collaboratively with health professionals, families, housing services, voluntary organisations, and partner agencies to achieve positive outcomes.
- Promoting early intervention, prevention, and access to community resources that support independence and resilience.
- Maintaining accurate, timely, and high-quality case recordings, safeguarding documentation, assessments, and reports.
- Contributing to a positive team culture and supporting the delivery of high-quality safeguarding practice across Adult Social Care.
Qualifications and Experience:
To be successful in this role you must have;
- Professional Qualification: MA, BA, BSc in Social Work, Diploma in Social Work, or CQSW.
- Registration: Must be registered with Social Work England.
- Experience: Significant post-qualified experience within Adult Social Care.
- Safeguarding Experience: Experience undertaking safeguarding triage, risk assessment, safeguarding enquiries, and adult protection work.
- Legislation Knowledge: Strong understanding of the Care Act 2014, Mental Capacity Act 2005, Adult Safeguarding legislation, and associated statutory guidance.
- Assessment Skills: Proven ability to undertake strengths-based assessments, risk assessments, and safeguarding decision-making.
- Multi-Agency Working: Experience working collaboratively with health services, housing teams, voluntary organisations, and partner agencies.
- Communication Skills: Excellent verbal and written communication skills, including report-writing and assessment recording.
- Professional Practice: Commitment to strengths-based, person-centred practice and continuous professional development.
- Organisational Skills: Ability to prioritise workload effectively and work confidently within a fast-paced safeguarding environment.
