We are a social media company, with several exciting projects working with National and International brands. We are looking for a strong JavaScript engineer to help us enhance an existing RESTful JSON API. The ideal candidate should have strong backend experience in a language such as Java (or other JVM language), C#, Python or similar. He/she should be comfortable with data modeling concepts, separation of concerns, load issues, and scalability. The candidate should also have a strong understanding of the JavaScript language, an understanding of creating reusable modules, unit tests, etc. The candidate should have a strong foundation of software engineering, rather than someone who has only used JavaScript/jQuery for manipulating the DOM in web pages.

Previous, full lifecycle experience (multiple production releases) with a large, multi-user application deployed in the wild is a must. We are developing a suite of public-facing applications on top of this API, experience with developing heavily concurrent solutions is desired.

Ideally, the candidate will have solid experience in Node, but we would consider strong developers with less experience in our current stack, who are eager to learn it.

Our current platform is Backbone.js, Sails.js/Express, Node.js, and MongoDB.

Position is for a on site developer in our Los Angeles office.

Git/GitHub, RESTful, JSON, OAuth, Sails.js, socket.io/Web Sockets, MongoDB, Redis, Angular, Async, native iOS/Objective-C, native Android experience is a plus, as is front end experience.
