Remote Patient Access Representative

Location: New Haven, CT (2 weeks onsite training, then fully remote)

Schedule: Hybrid Training / Remote Opportunity

Contract Length: 6 Months

Overview

Our client, a leading academic health system, is seeking experienced Patient Access Representatives to join their growing team. This role is ideal for candidates with a strong background in patient registration, scheduling, intake, and insurance verification who are comfortable working in Epic and providing exceptional patient service.

Candidates will complete approximately two weeks of onsite training in New Haven, CT before transitioning to a fully remote schedule.

Responsibilities

  • Complete patient registration and demographic updates accurately in Epic
  • Verify insurance coverage and collect required patient information
  • Schedule, reschedule, and confirm patient appointments
  • Perform patient intake and maintain accurate electronic records
  • Assist patients with questions regarding appointments, registration, and healthcare services
  • Ensure compliance with patient privacy and confidentiality regulations
  • Provide outstanding customer service while handling a high volume of patient interactions
  • Collaborate with clinical and administrative teams to ensure a seamless patient experience

Required Qualifications

  • Previous experience in Patient Access, Patient Registration, Medical Reception, Medical Scheduling, or Patient Services
  • Experience using Epic
  • Strong customer service and communication skills
  • Ability to navigate multiple systems while maintaining accuracy and attention to detail
  • Comfortable working independently in a remote environment after training

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience in a hospital, healthcare system, physician practice, or medical office
  • Insurance verification experience
  • Knowledge of patient intake and scheduling workflows

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $25.00 - $25.00/hr.
