Commercial Lending Operations Assistant

Location: Minneapolis, MN (Hybrid)

Duration: 6-Month Contract with Potential for Extension/Permanent Hire

Schedule: Hybrid (3 days onsite, 2 days remote after training)

Pay Rate: $25.00/hour

About the Opportunity

We are seeking a detail-oriented Commercial Lending Operations Assistant to provide administrative and clerical support within a fast-paced lending operations environment. This position is ideal for candidates with banking experience who enjoy working with financial documentation, loan records, and operational processes that support commercial lending activities.

This role offers an excellent opportunity to gain hands-on experience in commercial lending operations while contributing to a collaborative and growth-focused team.

Key Responsibilities

  • Provide administrative and clerical support to the Commercial Lending Operations team.
  • Assist with daily operational tasks and special projects to help manage team workload.
  • Organize, maintain, and file loan documentation, financial statements, and related records.
  • Ensure loan files and customer records are complete, accurate, and up to date.
  • Track and follow up on outstanding post-closing items, including titles, recorded documents, insurance information, and searches.
  • Escalate missing or delayed documentation as needed to support timely resolution.
  • Support loan payoff activities, including lien releases, satisfactions, and account closures.
  • Maintain payoff documentation and ensure proper record retention.
  • Communicate with insurance agents to obtain updated insurance certificates.
  • Update loan servicing systems and records with current insurance information.
  • Assist in maintaining compliance and accuracy of loan documentation and servicing records.
  • Provide additional support during periods of increased workload, employee absences, and special initiatives.

Required Qualifications

  • Minimum of 1 year of banking experience, preferably within commercial lending or loan operations.
  • At least 1 year of experience working with financial or loan-related documentation, including one or more of the following:
    • Real estate titles
    • Lien releases
    • Insurance documentation
    • Post-closing activities
    • Loan documentation
  • Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office and data entry systems.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience supporting commercial loan servicing or operations teams.
  • Familiarity with loan documentation processes and post-closing requirements.
  • Experience working with insurance tracking and collateral documentation.

Work Environment

  • Initial onboarding period requires working onsite Monday through Friday to become familiar with systems, processes, and team members.
  • Following onboarding, employees will work a hybrid schedule consisting of three days onsite and two days remote.
  • Onsite schedules may rotate based on team coverage needs.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $25.00 - $25.00/hr.
