Description:

We are seeking a talented individual to join our Singapore Controllership team at Marsh. This role will be based in Singapore. This is a hybrid role that has a requirement of working at least three days a week in the office.

The Accountant will be responsible for overseeing day-to-day accounting functions, ensuring the accuracy and integrity of financial information, and supporting various compliance and reporting activities within the team.

We will count on you to:

Manage the monthly closing process, including flash reporting and commentary, in collaboration with the Accounting Operations (AO) in KL and the Centre of Excellence (COE) in Mumbai.
Conduct variance analysis and review account reconciliations, journal entries, and balance sheet analyses to ensure timely resolution of exceptional items.
Support audits and act as the primary liaison with internal and external auditors, ensuring compliance with SOX controls and regulatory requirements.
Oversee quarterly tax submissions and ensure adherence to local statutory and tax accounting and reporting.
Collaborate with various stakeholders to support finance operating requirements and resolve operational matters.
Participate in projects affecting the department and its processes, responding to ad hoc requests for financial information and operational analysis.

What you need to have:

Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field; CPA or equivalent certification preferred.
Minimum of 8-15 years of relevant accounting experience, preferably in a multinational corporation and the insurance industry.
Strong knowledge of SOX, US GAAP, Financial Reporting Standards in Singapore, and Singapore tax regulations.
