  • 3 to 5 years in M&A, investment banking, private equity, transaction advisory, or corporate development.
  • Advanced financial modeling (valuation, LBO, accretion/dilution) and expert in Excel and PowerPoint.
  • Hands-on due diligence: you separate signal from noise in a data room and quantify deal risk.
  • Bachelor's in finance, economics, or a related field; strong analytical and communication skills under deal deadlines.
  • Excellent written and verbal English (C1+); you present to investors and deal principals.

As M&A Associate you evaluate acquisition targets end to end and produce the analysis leadership uses to decide. Some weeks it is diligence on a live deal; others it is sourcing and screening targets against the thesis.

  • Build valuation, LBO, and operating models for acquisition targets, and assess deal profitability.
  • Run market research and comps to identify and screen targets against the acquisition thesis.
  • Lead due diligence: review financials, contracts, and business risks, and quantify their impact on the deal.
  • Prepare investment memos and board or investor presentations that support negotiations and the go / no-go decision.
  • Coordinate the deal process across buyers, sellers, legal teams, and senior executives.
  • Support post-merger integration and synergy realization, and monitor the market for new opportunities.

Success looks like: within 90 days you own the model and the diligence workstream on at least one live or practice deal, leadership trusts your numbers, and you have produced one full investment memo with a clear recommendation.

Puente Talent Partners connects top Latin American professionals with growing US companies. This role is for one of our US clients; you would join their team directly while Puente supports you through the hiring process.
Our client is an acquisitive US company, search fund, or PE-backed platform that grows by buying businesses. They need real deal horsepower without an investment-banking price tag: someone who can tear through a target's numbers and tell them go or no-go. You would work directly with the principals on live deals, in a small, fast, high-trust team that values rigor, judgment, and clear written communication across time zones.

Bonus points

  • Prior experience working with US-based clients or remote-first teams.
  • Strong written and verbal English (C1+).
  • Comfortable with async tools (Slack, Loom, Notion).
  • Track record of taking initiative on ambiguous problems and shipping practical solutions.
