Our client is a leading MNC in the shipping industry based in town. It is looking to hire a management consultant who will report to an experienced Business Strategy Mgr for a global shipping MNC. The co allows a WFH arrangement 1 day per week. This is a permanent position.
As the Business Process Assistant Manager/ Manager, you are responsible for analyzing, designing, implementing, and optimizing business processes across the organization. This role plays a critical part in improving efficiency, reducing costs, and achieving strategic business objectives. You are part of the Corporate Business Planning/Strategy team.
Location: Singapore
- Conduct thorough assessments of existing business processes and data back up plans (non-technical) to identify inefficiencies and areas for improvement.
- Utilize process mapping and modeling techniques (e.g. flowchart) to document and visualize current processes.
- Design and develop new or improved business processes that are efficient, effective, and aligned with organizational goals.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams (e.g. IT, Operations, Finance, Marketing, Trade, Fleet) to gather requirements and ensure stakeholder buy-in.
- Project manage the implementation of new or improved processes, including change management activities and employee training.
- Monitor process performance using key performance indicators (KPIs) and other metrics.
- Analyze data and identify areas for continuous improvement.
- Develop and maintain comprehensive process documentation, including standard operating procedures (SOPs) and process maps.
- Prepare reports and presentations to communicate process improvement initiatives and results to management.
- Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, or a related field e.g. IT.
- Preferably 4 to 8 years of Management Consulting exp gained with a Big 4 or boutique consulting firm. Or cands with business process owner/consulting experience gained with MNCs will be considered.
- Some exposure to Business Process Management or Business Process Consulting is required
- Experience mapping/documenting business processes, rolling out of improved business process and driving changes is required
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with the ability to identify root causes of issues.
- Highly organized with the ability to prioritize competing demands, including the ability to prioritize work and meet deadlines.
- Has the ability to work effectively with cross-functional teams.
- Experience in Cyber/Business Continuity Plan (BCP) is advantageous but not required.
- Strong on cognitive assessment/abstract reasoning skills
- Has the ability to appropriately influence key stakeholders (including senior management) and effectively challenge their views where necessary. Also has strong critical thinking skills.
- Has excellent communication and presentation skills, with the ability to interact with senior management.
- Proficiency in MS Excel.
- Proficiency with a process mapping tool e.g. Miro will be advantageous but not a must.
- Shipping /maritime industry is useful, but this is not a must
