The Senior Manager, Marketplace Partner Performance will lead the strategy, operating model, and execution of partner performance management for Target Plus. This role will be responsible for defining performance priorities, building scalable mechanisms, and leading a team focused on improving seller growth, profitability, and platform health. 

This leader will sit at the intersection of business strategy, analytics, partner growth, and cross-functional teams to enable data-backed decision-making and enabling Partner Growth teams with the insights, tools, and recommendations needed to improve seller outcomes. 

The role requires a strong strategic mindset, people leadership, executive presence, and the ability to influence across teams including Partner Growth, Pricing, Inventory, Promotions, Product, Data Analytics and other cross functional teams. 

  

Partner Performance Strategy & Governance 

  • Define the overall partner performance strategy, priorities, and success measures for Target Plus  

  • Establish a scalable performance management framework across partners, categories, and key business levers  

  • Own performance governance, operating cadences, and mechanisms to track progress against business goals  

  • Identify opportunities to improve seller performance to improve marketplace health and drive GMV growth 

  

Team and Talent 

  • Lead and develop a high-performing team (5+ analysts) by overseeing staffing, onboarding, performance management, and resource planning, while setting clear priorities, expectations, and success metrics. 

  • Build team capabilities and culture by strengthening analytical, strategic, and storytelling skills, and fostering ownership, collaboration, curiosity, and continuous improvement. 

  

Partner Performance Analytics & Insights 

  • Define and track key seller performance metrics including GMV, conversion, traffic, in-stock, pricing competitiveness, assortment productivity, and profitability  

  • Oversee dashboards, reporting frameworks, and insight generation to provide clear visibility into partner performance  

  • Translate complex data into actionable business recommendations for leaders and Partner Growth teams  

  • Identify trends, risks, and growth opportunities across partners, categories, and SKUs  

  

Partner Growth Enablement 

  • Equip Partner Growth teams with structured insights, scorecards, and recommendations for seller conversations  

  • Build scalable tools and frameworks to enable more consistent, insight-led partner engagement  

  • Identify levers to improve seller performance across pricing, assortment, inventory, promotions, and content  

  • Drive mechanisms to track partner action plans, improvements, and business impact over time  

Profitability & Business Performance 

  • Assess partner-level profitability, margin performance, and unit economics to guide decision-making  

  • Identify opportunities to improve profitability while continuing to drive marketplace growth  

  • Partner with Finance, Pricing, and Category teams to balance growth, competitiveness, and margin outcomes  

  • Develop recommendations that support both short-term business delivery and long-term partner sustainability  

Cross-Functional Leadership & Strategic Decision Support 

  • Partner closely with Pricing, Inventory, Promotions, Product, Finance, Category, and Partner Growth teams to align on business priorities  

  • Influence cross-functional partners to drive action against key performance opportunities  

  • Support strategic initiatives that improve marketplace scalability, operational discipline, and seller success  

  • Create clear executive-level narratives that connect performance insights to business decisions  

Reporting, Automation & Scalable Mechanisms 

  • Lead the evolution of reporting and automation solutions across key tools while standardizing KPIs to ensure consistency in partner performance measurement  

  • Improve reporting efficiency and insight quality through scalable data infrastructure and automation  

  • Continuously enhance mechanisms to make performance management more proactive and action-oriented

About you 

  • Experience & Expertise: 10+ years in e-commerce, retail, marketplace, analytics, or business strategy roles with 5+ years in team leadership; strong understanding of marketplace dynamics, pricing, competitive intelligence, seller performance levers, and partner growth models; Bachelor’s required (MBA preferred). 

  • Analytical & Strategic Skills: Exceptional analytical and problem-solving skills with ability to interpret data, conduct price benchmarking, and translate insights into actionable, strategic recommendations; expertise in building scalable frameworks and using data to influence business decisions. 

  • Communication & Influence: Strong storytelling and executive communication skills to craft compelling data-driven narratives; proven ability to influence senior stakeholders and collaborate effectively with global, cross-functional teams. 

  • Leadership & Ways of Working: Strategic, detail-oriented, and outcome-driven leader who thrives in fast-paced, ambiguous environments; strong stakeholder management, prioritization, and ability to drive clarity, alignment, and execution (including flexibility to work with US-based teams).
