Manage and lead a team of software engineers, quality engineers, consultants and offshore development partner resources and work with architects and developers to properly scope, estimate work and solution projects or production support of the e-Commerce platform. Lead all position’s teams to applying engineering concepts and principles to the design of software solutions. Evaluate business needs, define functional requirements and technical specifications, and ensure your teams codes secure and efficient solutions or enhancements. Assure all your domains are being Tested following best QA strategy. Assure software functionality is monitoring performance, ensuring accessibility and scalability. Serve as the primary point of contact between end users, support personnel, and software engineering teams. Maintain Comprehensive knowledge of the field's concepts and principles. Perform complex tasks following established processes. Lead and direct the work of other employees and have full authority for personnel decisions. Primarily focus on administering established policies and procedures but may have some impact on departmental budgeting, strategic planning, and procedural change. Manage finances, Capital and Expense within budget and look for ways to optimize spend. Responsible for managing day to day solutions delivery and metrics. Responsible for owning and defining roadmap and its evolution at Staples. Define agile delivery model for launching innovative applications. Manage resource scheduling and task execution to plans and objectives. Maintain a high-level understanding of dependencies that could lead to scheduling risks. Recruit and hire new associates. Provide supervision for direct reports, including hired services contractors. Establish individual performance goals, review performance against goals and provide coaching for associate development. Plan and recommend salary increases as appropriate. Define new job roles and redefine existing roles to align with the business. 40 hours/week, 9:00am-5:00pm Education and Experience Requirements Job Requirements: Requires a Bachelor’s degree in Mathematics, Statistics, Computer Science, Electronic Engineering, Information Systems or a directly related field plus seven (7) years of experience in developing or managing large software engineering applications. Must have five (5) years of experience in each of the following (experience may be gained concurrently): - Working with Product owners to support eCommerce initiatives Must have four (4) years of experience in each of the following (experience may be gained concurrently): - Establish and implement best practices with regards to system configuration - Executing pre/post deployment verification - Delivering the best e-Commerce solutions utilizing Intelli J, Jenkin, Java, React JS, or APIs - Working with Agile development methodologies Must have two (2) years of experience in each of the following (experience may be gained concurrently): - Implementing using Java 8 - Implementing using Node.js or React.js - Applying Micro-services architecture - Implementing using both relational and NOSQL database: Oracle and Couchbase - Establish and implement best practices with regards to system maintenance, system development, and test automation - Documenting release process, performing releases between Test, UAT and production sandboxes Travel Requirements 10% domestic travel for business meetings, seminars, or to meet with team members from other states. Telecommuting/Remote Work is Permitted Position is fixed location based in Framingham office; however, telecommuting from a home office may also be allowed.
