Job Description

At GT’s Living Foods, our Quality Technicians (I) ensure that every batch of Kombucha maintains the highest standards of quality that our consumers know and love. Quality Technicians (I) are responsible for identifying and reporting errors/risk factors on the bottling line.

Essential Duties:

  • Inspect bottles on bottling line to determine whether bottles are missing cap codes, and place bottles that are missing cap codes back on bottling line prior to automatic cap code
  • Visually oversee fill lines on bottles and pull bottles off the line that are over/underfilled
  • Uncap bottles and redistribute products to ensure consistency of fill line, then recap filled bottles
  • Inspect bottling lines and pull defective bottles, such as broken bottles
  • Redistribute product from defective bottles to containers to be poured into bottles that meet all necessary specifications
  • Verify accuracy of date on cap code for each bottle
  • Perform quality checks on packaging of material such as label height and position
  • Promptly respond to issues and escalate them to the appropriate party
  • Coordinate with Fill/Pack to stop or start the packaging of finished goods
  • Transport containers filled with nonconformant products to the other internal departments • Clean work area as needed to maintain a safe work environment
  • Performs other duties as assigned

Physical Duties and Requirements:

  • Involves frequent movement around the warehouse in a wet/humid environment, near moving mechanical parts and/or electrical equipment, and occasionally in a cold environment (30-40°F)
  • Constant lifting of individual/multiple glass bottles (up to 10 lbs.)
  • Frequent bending/stooping at the waist to inspect glass quality and review cap code dates
  • Frequent and repetitive twisting and reaching to pull bottles from the line
  • Occasional ascending/descending of stairs, climbing ladders and balancing
  • Occasional lifting, wheeling, and dumping of containers filled with nonconformant product (up to 45 lbs.)
  • Employees are required to stand in a confined workspace for the majority of their work shift
  • The noise level in this work environment is constantly above 84 dB and requires earplugs to be worn
  • Requires normal visual acuity to ensure accuracy in measurements of quality and visual inspections of glass bottles
