1. Proactively identify and cultivate relationships with promising early-stage startups, leveraging personal networks, industry events, and inbound deal flow; manage pipeline and outreach through tools such as Affinity 2. Develop and maintain dynamic financial models in Excel and Google Sheets to assess valuation, revenue projections, and potential returns of investment opportunities. 3. Conduct comprehensive market research and competitive analysis using tools including CB Insights, PitchBook, CapIQ, and Crunchbase to identify trends, industry risks, and whitespace opportunities. 4. Conduct financial analysis, evaluate financial statements, business models, investment analysis, and growth strategies of target companies to assess financial viability and investment risks. 5. Monitor and manage portfolio companies, track and analyze performance and financial health, and provide recommendations based on key performance indicators (KPIs) to help drive growth and improve business performance. 6. Prepare detailed investment memos and reports in Microsoft PowerPoint, Google Slides, and Notion, combining qualitative narratives with quantitative assessments for investment committee and LP review. 7. Analyze economic data, industry benchmarks, and macroeconomic indicators to refine investment theses and strategies and conduct financial and business due diligence for presentation to the underwriting committee and documentation of credit risk management, including evaluating product and technology, analyzing financial statements, reviewing legal documents, and participating in customer reference calls. 8. Ensure investment assessments align with internal financial controls and regulatory compliance by using Docsend and Passthrough for documentation and workflow management. 9. Support portfolio companies' deal execution by managing data rooms on Docsend and cap table analysis through platforms including Carta, coordinating legal and financial due diligence processes. 10. Monitor exit environment, M&A trends, and IPO markets by tracking activity in CapIQ, Pitchbook, MergerMarket, and Dealroom, helping inform exit strategy and capital recycling. 11. Collaborate with startup founders post-investment by offering go-to-market strategy guidance and assisting in hiring through tools including LinkedIn Recruiter. This position requires a Bachelor's (or foreign educ. equiv.) Degree in Economics, Finance, or a closely related field of study plus five (5) years (post degree, progressive) experience in the job offered or related occupation. Experience must include: a. Conducting financial and business due diligence for presentation to the underwriting committee and documentation of credit risk management, including evaluating product and technology, analyzing financial statements, reviewing legal documents, and participating in customer reference calls. b. Supporting capital formation teams, including assisting with creating fundraising materials and data room. c. Monitoring and managing portfolio companies to analyze financial health and help drive growth and improve business performance. d. Conducting financial analysis and valuation exercises using financial statements, business models, and investment analysis. e. Monitoring exit environment, M&A trends, and IPO markets by tracking activity in CapIQ, and Pitchbook, helping inform exit strategy and capital recycling. f. Conducting comprehensive market research and competitive analysis using CB Insights, Pitchbook, CapIQ, and Crunchbase and participating in investor pitch meetings with entrepreneurs, evaluating investments, and tracking internal deal flow. g. Managing data rooms on Docsend. May telecommute 3-4 days per week. $183,000 per annum. 40 hours per week; M-F.
