POSITION SCOPE
We will count on you to:
- Coordinate with clients to understand their business needs and support relationship development.
- Design and develop competitive and innovative reinsurance solutions that cater for various needs of clients.
- Cultivate new clients and establish relationships to drive revenue growth.
- Demonstrate a near complete understanding of coverage lines, markets and other more specialized products and keep abreast of changing risk and insurance market conditions to better serve clients.
- Lead in reinsurance placement and execution, contributing to carrier engagement and negotiation strategies.
- Provide guidance to junior staff, supporting their development.
- Actively participate in the revenue/ budget process to ensure the financial success of the Company.
- Collaborate with internal stakeholders and contribute to the building of an effective client service team.
- Help organize client events and promotional initiatives to advocate GC’s value and capabilities.
What you need to have:
- Bachelor’s degree or higher; academic background in quantitative, business, risk management or insurance related field is preferred.
- 10-15 years’ experience in reinsurance broking or underwriting with a focus on treaty reinsurance.
- Proven ability to structure and place complex treaty programmes effectively.
- Strong market knowledge and established relationships across Asia Pacific reinsurance markets. On-the-ground experience in Hong Kong preferred.
- In-depth working knowledge of reinsurance pricing, wordings and portfolio structures.
- Customer-focused with strong sales drive. Self-motivated and excellent communication, presentation and interpersonal skills.
- Commercially astute and strong business sense.
- Experience in team leadership, including growing, managing and mentoring a team.
- Proven ability to manage and network in a multicultural environment. Strong gravitas and presence to influence and build collaborative relationships with stakeholders.
- Strong communication skills in English and Chinese (Cantonese/ Mandarin).
- Proficient MS office skills. Able to leverage a range of digital tools and technology to its maximum potential.
