We are seeking a talented individual to join our Wealth team at Mercer. This role will be based in Taiwan.
In this role, you will support our retirement consulting practice by analyzing data, developing retirement strategies, and assisting clients in achieving their retirement goals. You will work closely with senior consultants and clients to provide insights and recommendations that drive effective retirement solutions.
We will count on you to:
- Performs core pension valuation work (IAS19 / US GAAP / TIFRS), which includes execution with respect to requesting, gathering, and reviewing client data for completeness, reconciling data, liability and assets from previous valuations, actuarial modelling and valuation calculations.
- Prepares and reviews detailed analysis of final funding and accounting results to be reviewed by a signing actuary and retirement consultant.
- Provide high-quality calculations/ comparative analytics/ survey findings/ pension related advice in a time efficient manner.
- Supports all aspects of pension consulting work including design and planning of benefit strategies, pension survey, drafting correspondence to clients on a range of consulting issues, preparing agendas, papers and minutes for trustees’ meetings.
- Attends and participates in client meetings with consultant.
- Preparing actuarial reports and memorandums on various production and profitability statistics.
- Assist in attribution analysis for assumption, population, market and other model updates.
- Assist in researching global pension market trends and product offerings. Prepare ad-hoc marketing materials to support business development initiatives and proposals.
- Work with different offices and teams across the broader Mercer Wealth business in Asia and globally.
What you need to have:
- Bachelor or Master’s degree graduate with solid academic track record, preferably in numerate subjects such as Economics, Finance, Actuarial Science, Engineering and Mathematics. This role is also open to those seeking a career change after 2 to 4 years in their current role.
- In pursuit of an actuarial or CFA qualification.
- Some knowledge in pension systems in Taiwan and Asia preferred.
- Self-motivated, attention to details, organized and ability to multi-tasks in a fast-paced environment.
- Proficient with Excel, Powerpoint and Word. VBA, Python or other programming language a plus.
- Strong written and verbal presentation skills in English and Mandarin.
