As a Director of Operations for Ship Integration and Test supporting PEO IWS, you will be trusted to bring together and direct the efforts of a multi-disciplinary team that is to provide all aspects of planning, integration and installation of Aegis Combat Systems (ACS) onboard ships and sites, post-construction and during maintenance availabilities. This senior position will be tied to both Engineering and Test. In this role, you will be responsible for managing all GDIT operations taking place CONUS and OCONUS to ensure that implementation and prescribed activities are carried out in accordance with specified objectives. Some responsibilities include:
Specific responsibilities include:
- Direct all aspects of ACS SI&T related GDIT activities, across numerous concurrent efforts and locations
- Manage your geographically dispersed team of test professionals
- Work with GDIT Leadership to grow the relationship and tasking associated with PEO IWS and other relevant NAVSEA customers
- Coordinate efforts with fellow ACS Directors across a matrixed organization
- Ensure all resource, programmatic and logistical, requirements are in place to properly execute responsibilities
- Plan and develop methods and procedures for implementing the sites program, direct and coordinate sites activities, and exercises control over personnel responsible for specific functions or phases of program.
- Select test team personnel according to knowledge and experience in area with which program is concerned.
- Confer with Contractor or Government staff to explain program and individual responsibilities for functions and phases of program.
- Direct and coordinate personally, or through subordinate managerial personnel, activities concerned with implementation and carrying out objectives of program.
- Review reports and records of activities to ensure progress is being accomplished toward specified program objective and modifies or changes methodology as required to redirect activities and attain objectives.
WHAT YOU’LL NEED:
- Bachelors and 10+ years of experience for Naval or Combat System program(s) or equivalent experience (or 15+ years of experience without a degree)
- Over two (2+) years direct experience in the engineering, installation and/or operation of the Aegis Combat System onboard US Navy ships or Aegis Ashore.
- Ability to work collaboratively as part of the larger GDIT Navy and Marine Corps Sector
- A demonstrated ability to work across the Navy/Marine Corps major stakeholder organizations and in particular an understanding of the relationships between NAVSEA, PEO IWS and the Fleet Commands is required to perform this role.
- A US DoD Secret security clearance with eligibility for TS/SCI is required.
- US Citizenship is required
