We are seeking a talented individual to join Mercer Technology at Mumbai/Noida/Gurgaon/Pune. This is a hybrid role that has a requirement of working at least three days a week in the office.

Senior Principal Engineer - Applications Development (Grade D1)

We will count you to

  • Develop and work in a development team to develop integrated ASP.NET web applications.

  • Write clean, scalable code using .NET-programming languages.

  • Provide day-to-dayproduction supportfor a legacy ASP.NET application and supporting applications, including incident triage, root-cause analysis, and timely resolution.

  • Maintain and enhanceexisting functionality usingC# and .NET Framework 4.7.2, delivering reliable updates with minimal disruption to users.

  • Troubleshoot and resolve issues across the full stack, includingSQL Server(queries, stored procedures, triggers) and application/service layers.

  • Support and maintain integrations withDotNetNuke (DNN) 9.13, including authentication, navigation, and role-based access management.

  • Maintain and enhance service interfaces, includingWCFandASMXweb services, and support related API integrations as applicable.

  • Develop and update reporting solutions leveragingCrystal Reports, and support document/data generation features using components such asAspose,Telerik, andHighcharts.

  • Collaborate closely withQAand other developers to define acceptance criteria, reproduce defects, validate fixes, and ensure high-quality releases.

  • Follow establishedSDLCand change management practices, including estimation, documentation, peer reviews, and controlled deployments.

  • Ensure code issecure, maintainable, and compliantwith internal standards through clean design, defensive coding, and adherence to best practices.

  • Create and maintainunit testsand supporting test data to improve reliability and reduce regression risk.

What you need to have

  • 4+ years of professional software development experience, including support and enhancement oflegacy/enterprise applications.

  • Strong proficiency withC# / .NET Framework 4.7.2andASP.NET.

  • StrongObject-Oriented Programming (OOP)skills and ability to write clean, maintainable code.

  • Proficient with Git and GitHub for code maintenance. Familiarity with Snyk static scan, Git Guardian plug ins as pre-commit checks

  • StrongSQL Serverdevelopment/support experience, includingT-SQL queries, stored procedures, and triggers.

  • CSLA is the ORM being used. Hands-on experience with any major ORM.

  • Provenproduction supportcapability: troubleshooting, root-cause analysis, and efficient defect remediation.

  • Experience withWCFandASMX (ASP.NET Web Services).

  • Working knowledge ofREST APIs, JSON, Windows Workflow foundation

  • Experience withVisual Studio 2017/2022andTFS/Azure DevOps-stylesource control and work item workflow.

  • Hands-on experience usingLINQ,XML,JavaScript, andjQuery.

  • Reporting experience withCrystal Reports.

  • Familiarity with third-party components used in legacy applications:

    • Aspose(includingAspose.Cells)

    • Telerik Controls for ASP.NET

    • Highcharts

    • Test Driven development experience using MSTest

Eligibility

  • Minimum 12 months experience as a Senior Engineer/Principal Engineer

  • Should have at least “Meets Expectations” or equivalent rating in last appraisal

  • Should not be under any Performance Continuity Plan, or had any official Disciplinary action within the last 3 months

  • Should not have applied for any other IJP within Mercer in the last 3 months
