Rocky Mountain Lift Services & Supplies Inc. (4-102 Bow Meadows Crescent, Canmore, AB, Canada) Is seeking a Ropeway Technician (NOC 72999). It’s a full-time, permanent position, 44 hours/week, $38.00/h. Employment location is the Rocky Mountain Region. We also offer the following: Accident Insurance: Alberta Workman’s Compensation Travel Expenses: Food and accommodation are paid when working in the field Benefits: Extended health insurance As a Ropeway Technician, you will be expected to perform the following duties: - Perform inspections, maintenance, troubleshooting, and repairs on ropeway systems, ski lifts, gondolas, aerial trams, and related mechanical equipment. - Access difficult and elevated work areas using industrial rope access techniques in accordance with safety standards and procedures. - Analyze and troubleshoot mechanical issues involving gearboxes, drive systems, wire ropes, rigging systems, and lifting equipment. - Perform ropeway cable installations, shortenings, repairs, splicing, and track rope slipping. - Conduct routine safety inspections and ensure all work is completed in compliance with operational and safety requirements. - Perform rigging operations, lifting procedures, and wire rope handling related to ropeway systems. - Work independently and travel frequently to remote project locations for maintenance and technical service work. - Maintain service records, inspection reports, and communicate technical findings to management and clients. Requirements: Thorough knowledge and understanding of the following within the ropeway industry: - Mechanics for aerial and surface ropeway systems - Rope splicing and wire rope handling - Gearboxes and drive systems - Rigging practices and lifting operations - All types of wire ropes used in aerial and surface ropeway systems - Managing technical service projects including cable installations, shortenings, repairs, splicing, and slipping - Rope socketing Education: - Minimum high school diploma Experience: - Minimum 3 years of experience in mechanical ropeway service and maintenance or combination of experience and trade education - Experience with cable installations, shortenings, repairs, splicing, and slipping required Skills: - Must be comfortable and capable of working at heights in various weather conditions - Strong verbal communication skills in English. - Must have a valid driver’s license? - Ability to work long hours and travel frequently - Ability to work away from home for extended periods - Flexible work schedule - Ability to work independently at remote job sites - Self-motivated and reliable - Strong customer service and client relationship skills - Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite To apply, please send your resume to No telephone calls, please.
