Senior role responsible for originating, developing, and expanding international treasury and cash management revenues across a portfolio of large U.S.-headquartered multinational corporations, each with annual sales exceeding $5 billion and operations within BBVA’s global footprint, focused primarily in Latin America. Serve as a subject matter expert in cash management, primarily in Latin America, advising clients on BBVA’s value-added solutions, including cross-border liquidity structures, regulatory constraints, domestic market practices, and tax/legal considerations impacting treasury operations in this region. Duties include:
Act as regional expert in Latin American payments and collections, delivering cross-border cash solutions and advising global clients on clearing systems and cash flow strategy.
Lead the integration of cash management products with Treasury Management Systems (TMS) and Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) platforms using host-to-host, API, or SWIFT connection channels, including configuration of mandatory fields for straight-through processing (STP) of payments and direct debits, in Latin American countries.
Coordinate with BBVA Corporate Investment Banking ( CIB ) and local BBVA Cash Management teams to align strategy and deliver tailored product pitches.
Serve as a trusted adviser to U.S.-headquartered multinational clients by cross-selling international cash solutions and leveraging regional expertise.
Develop and execute client engagement plans in coordination with BBVA CIB and local BBVA Cash Management teams, ensuring alignment with global commercial strategy and integrated relationship management.
Lead end to end RFP/RFI processes for cash management, tailoring proposals to client needs and aligning BBVA’s regional offerings in Latin America with treasury goals and product strategy.
Translate client needs and regional market gaps into actionable product priorities, shaping BBVA’s cash management roadmap with insights from multi-country operations, regulatory landscapes and service delivery across Latin America.
Translate client and country-specific needs into product priorities, using Latin American regional expertise to shape BBVA’s cash management strategy and drive innovation.
Utilize BBVA internal management and reporting tools to measure, monitor and analyze the client’s profitability across BBVA’s global footprint and provide cash management offerings that drive international growth and optimization.
Manage a team of one or more global cash management support professionals.
Position is based at the employer’s office in Houston, Texas, with the option to work from home 2 days/week.
Bachelor’s degree (or foreign equivalent) in Business Administration or Finance and 7 years of experience as a Transactional Banker or Global Cash Management Sales Manager (or equivalent title) selling and implementing cash management solutions for corporate clients operating in Latin America. Such experience must include:
7 years of experience utilizing a needs-based sales approach for new deal origination and driving revenue generation through multi-product cash management services including the recommendation and successful integration of domestic liquidity solutions, centralized payment structures and cross-border products in Latin America.
5 years of experience coordinating the implementation of complex cash management projects (including payment, payroll, tax, collections, and direct debit products) by leading internal alignment across local banking teams, product, legal, and operations, ensuring compliance with jurisdiction-specific local regulatory and tax requirements in the specified Latin American markets.
3 years of experience coordinating and presenting cash management RFPs issued by multinational corporations in Latin America, including bank selection processes, vendor evaluation, and transition planning for multinational banking operations
5 years of experience managing international cash management, including liquidity planning, centralized payment structures, and cross-border cash solutions in accordance with local regulatory frameworks in Latin America.
2 years of experience leading and managing complex cash management platforms integration projects including working with the proprietary file formats and mandatory fields to create bulk domestic payments, payroll, and collection files in Latin America generated from corporate clients’ ERP platforms (e.g., SAP, Oracle) or TMS.
2 years of experience managing alignment between clients’ and internal bank IT/implementation teams as part of the delivery and integration of technical connectivity methods, such as webservices, Host-to-Host (H2H), APIs, SWIFT File Act, for straight-through processing for reporting, payment and collection files in Latin American markets.
2 years of experience implementing standardized and country-specific payment formats, including regulatory report requirements, for STP of payments through local and international clearing systems in Latin America.
Position is based at the employer’s office in Houston, Texas with option to work from home 2 days/week.
Domestic travel approx. 33 days/quarter to visit U.S. clients to pitch international cash management services and occasional international travel, approx. 6 days/quarter, to visit clients’ international offices.
