HomePlace Furniture & Design is a local small business with two locations in the greater Portland area. This position is to fill a role at our main showroom in Hubbard location. Design experience is welcomed but definitely not a must. Our easy-going staff will provide extensive training to build your confidence as a salesperson. We offer a variety of styles to fit any taste and budget, from modern and contemporary to classic and traditional. Our selection includes everything from sofas, chairs, and tables to beds, dressers, and storage solutions. In addition to our furniture offerings, we also provide personalized design services to help clients create the perfect look for their home. Duties: - Provide exceptional customer service and assist customers with their design needs - Assist customers with product selection and provide recommendations based on their preferences and needs - Create layout designs for customers' spaces, considering functionality and aesthetics - Offer expertise in lighting design to enhance the overall ambiance of the space - Conduct product demos to showcase the features and benefits of various products - Process sales transactions - Collaborate with team members to ensure a seamless customer experience Qualifications: - Previous experience in retail sales, preferably in a design-related field - Knowledge of basic math for accurate measurements and calculations - Strong communication skills in English, both verbal and written - Ability to provide excellent customer service and build rapport with customers - Attention to detail and ability to multitask in a fast-paced environment - Flexibility to work weekends and evenings as needed Benefits: - Commission offered after hitting monthly minimum - Employee discounts on products and services If you have a passion for design, excellent customer service skills, and a creative mindset, we would love to hear from you!
