Service Apprentice
Reports to: Service Director
FLSA Status: Non-Exempt

The Opportunity
This position requires a basic skill level with the ability to help perform electrical and mechanical inspections and start-up maintenance on equipment. This is a full-time opportunity for an energetic go-getter. An ideal candidate will be customer service oriented and work well with others. Position requires a high level of correspondence with Sales Engineers, Project Engineers, Service Coordinators, Field Supervisor and customers.

Description of Principle Duties:
• Works in a team-based environment to share information and workload while ensuring customer satisfaction
• Assists senior technicians with performing scheduled maintenance on HVAC equipment for customers
• Assists with the installation and repair of commercial HVAC equipment
• Must work in a safe manner on a daily basis and ensure that all safety measures are taken at all times
• Performs other duties as assigned
• Flexibility to work overtime/weekends, as required based on business needs
• All other duties as assigned

Education, Experience and Qualifications:
• High School Diploma or equivalent
• Must have valid driver’s license with good driving record at time of application, and 25 years of age for insurance purposes
• Completion of HVAC Technician school or certification program preferred
• Current HVAC certification and OSHA 10 Training preferred
• Experience working as a Service Technician in a residential or commercial environment preferred
• Operating knowledge of Microsoft Office 365 software and working proficiency with hand-held computer (i.e. Smartphone, Microsoft Windows tablet)
• Ability to work in diverse conditions including but not limited to mechanical equipment rooms with exposure to noisy operating equipment, exposure to extreme weather conditions, risk of electrical shock (high voltage), climbing/working at elevated heights, etc.
• Must be able to climb, crawl, stoop, kneel and must regularly lift and/or move up to 50 pounds, frequently lift and/or move up to 75 pounds
• Ability to work independently with minimal supervision and balance requirements of multiple and varied duties

Knowledge/Skill Set:
• Effective interpersonal and customer service skills.
• Strong written, verbal, and presentational communication skills.
• Must have the ability to switch quickly between tasks based on priority and timeline.
• Works well within a team dynamic to ensure timely execution of tasks.
