Work locations: - 10/22 Mavis Court Ormeau, QLD 4208 Australia - 14/7 View Street West Gladstone, QLD 4680 Australia Full Time Transport Company Manager $77,000 - $82,000 plus superannuation Positions Purpose / Summary: - Analyze equipment and operational tasks to deliver productive outcomes through resource utilization, route optimization, and subcontractor management. - Promote a safety-first culture and ensure commitment to Safety, CoR and Quality requirements always. - Responsible for financial management while continually seeking improvement opportunities. - Conduct mandatory safety audits and compliance tasks. - Manage assets, adhering to a scheduled maintenance program. - Drive and measure key performance indicators to ensure the fleet & drivers always adopt continuous improvement and customer focus mindset, to support growth and innovation. - Responsible for day-to-day operations, efficiently managing our vehicles and team of drivers. - Keep updated with the latest safety conduct of transportation activities. Maintain a safety plan that is updated with all legal requirements. Ensure that all drivers adhere to all safety protocols. - Incident reports, safety alerts, maintain leave forms, and compliance with the Transport Management System (TMS). - Maintain and promote a positive safety culture, ensuring adherence to company standards and regulatory compliance - Foster a "safety-first" mindset, always ensuring commitment to Chain of Responsibility (CoR) and quality standards. - Lead, manage, and mentor team members while providing strong analytical leadership. - Ensure cost and revenue accountability while seeking continuous improvement opportunities. - Oversee asset management and ensure adherence to scheduled maintenance programs. - Develop operational strategies aligned with future growth and business projections. - Monitor and drive key performance indicators (KPIs) to support a culture of continuous improvement and customer focus - Promoting a safety-first culture and ensuring commitment to Safety, CoR and Quality requirements always - Cost and revenue accountability while continually seeking improvement opportunities. - Asset management, adhering to a scheduled maintenance program - You will drive and measure key performance indicators to ensure the fleet & drivers always adopt continuous improvement and customer focus mindset, to support growth and innovation. - duties and responsibilities may reasonably evolve over time depending on operational requirements, fleet growth, compliance obligations, and business needs. Required Skills - Minimum Diploma-level qualification in Business or Management (or equivalent in Australia). - Full-time availability and strong management skills - At least three years relevant experience in transport operations, logistics, fleet operations or transport business management. - Ability to liaise with clients, suppliers, contractors and service providers. - Strong leadership, communication and problem-solving skills. - Strong understanding of financial metrics, KPIs, and cost control. - A process-driven, analytical, and methodical approach to work. - Knowledge of transport compliance, road safety, vehicle maintenance coordination and workplace safety requirements. - Ability to manage a fleet of trucks, drivers, schedules and delivery requirements. - Self-motivation and a results-oriented mindset. - In-depth knowledge of Southeast Queensland's geography. - Excellent planning and decision-making abilities. - Strong communication skills and the ability to build professional relationships. - Proficiency in Microsoft Excel, Outlook, and basic WMS/TMS software. - Knowledge of NHVAS, CoR (Fatigue, Load, and Mass Management), and Dangerous Goods Awareness (including segregation requirements). - Experience in Concert Travel & General goods transport & also alcohol transport - though not essential. - Proven ability to meet deadlines and performance targets. - Must have a knowledge of truck, prime movers, semi & B Double vehicles What We Offer - A challenging and rewarding career opportunity - A competitive salary based on experience - A safe and supportive working environment - Opportunities for professional and career growth Additional Requirements: The successful applicant will be required to present a criminal history check.
