Job Summary: The Welding Automation Lead will oversee the implementation and maintenance of automated welding systems. This role requires a deep understanding of welding processes, robotics, and automation technologies. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in welding engineering and a passion for driving innovation in manufacturing.
General Responsibilities:
- Lead the design, development, and implementation of automated welding systems.
- Collaborate with engineering and production teams to incorporate weld automation.
- Troubleshoot and resolve issues related to welding automation equipment.
- Train and mentor team members on the use of automated welding systems.
- Manages regular maintenance and upgrades of welding automation equipment.
- Analyze production data to identify areas for improvement and implement solutions.
- Stay updated with the latest advancements in welding automation technology.
- Inspect finished products to ensure they adhere to quality standards and specifications.
- Primarily responsible for fixture development and programming for robot and cobot weld process.
- Will be a resource to production for fixture development in fabrication away from the robot and cobot weld cells.
- Ensure compliance with safety standards and regulations.
- Follow all safety protocols and procedures, including the use of personal protective equipment (PPE).
- Work closely with engineers, technicians, and other team members to improve processes and resolve technical issues.
- Read and interpret blueprints, work orders, and production schedules to determine specifications, such as material type, size, and shape.
- Maintain a clean and organized work area.
- Performs other duties as assigned.
Qualifications:
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Minimum of 5 years of experience in welding automation or a similar role.
- Proficiency in programming and operating robotic welding systems.
- Strong knowledge of welding processes and materials.
- Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills.
- Ability to work collaboratively in a team environment.
- Strong communication and leadership skills.
- Certification in welding or robotics is a plus.
