The Old Mill Holiday Hostel is recruiting a Hospitality Manager for a full-time, permanent position based in Westport, Co. Mayo, Ireland. The role is for 39 hours per week, rostered over 5 days in line with business needs.
The Hospitality Manager will oversee the day-to-day operation of the hostel, ensuring high standards across reception, reservations, housekeeping, guest service, compliance, and overall business performance.
• Manage daily hostel operations including reception, reservations, housekeeping, and guest services
• Lead, supervise, and support team members to maintain high customer service standards
• Monitor occupancy, booking channels, and room allocation to improve efficiency and revenue performance
• Handle guest feedback, complaints, and service recovery in a professional manner
• Ensure compliance with health and safety requirements and operational procedures
• Support budgeting, supplier coordination, cost control, and service quality across the property
Candidate requirements: Applicants must hold a recognised third-level qualification in hospitality management or a related discipline and have at least 5 years’ relevant experience in a hospitality management role preferably in a hostel. Strong leadership, communication, organisational, and customer service skills are essential. Experience in accommodation operations and reservations systems is required.
