Job Description
We are looking for a motivated and innovative Software Engineer with expertise in backend and data engineering to play a key role in building out our platform. You will be responsible for designing and implementing APIs, integrating with external APIs, transforming and contextualizing data, and making it accessible for the rest of the company. As an early hire, this role offers an opportunity to work on high-impact projects and help set the direction and culture of the company going forward.
Responsibilities
Design, develop, and maintain high-quality APIs to facilitate seamless data exchange between our platform and our members.
Integrate our platform with external APIs, ensuring efficient and secure data transfer.
Implement robust data transformation and processing pipelines to handle a variety of data formats.
Optimize data processing and storage to improve performance, reliability, and scalability.
Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure seamless integration of data and services.
Drive the adoption of best practices in software engineering, data management, and system design.
Continuously improve our technology stack and contribute to the development of innovative solutions.
Requirements
Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a related field.
6+ years of professional experience in software development, with a focus on backend and data engineering.
Strong proficiency in a programming language such as Go, Java, C++, with experience in building and maintaining production systems.
Hands-on experience with Google Cloud Platform (GCP) or another equivalent cloud platform.
Proven experience in designing and implementing scalable and performant APIs.
Knowledge of data integration, transformation, and processing techniques.
Strong problem-solving skills, attention to detail, and ability to work in a fast-paced, dynamic environment.
Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
Nice-to-haves
Experience in the healthcare domain, particularly with medical claims and clinical data.
Familiarity with other programming languages and technologies.
