Position Title: Substitute Educational Aide Location: Deer Park Community City Schools / Cincinnati, OH Employment Type: As Needed / Part-Time / On-Call Pay Rate: $15.00/Hour About the Role Dedicated School Staffing is seeking reliable and compassionate Substitute Educational Aides to support students and teachers when regular staff are unavailable. This role plays a key part in maintaining a safe, inclusive, and productive learning environment. Substitute aides help with classroom activities, provide individualized support, and ensure continuity of services across both general and special education settings. Key Responsibilities Assist classroom teachers with instruction, activities, and supervision Provide one-on-one or small group support to students, including those with special needs Carry out accommodations and modifications as directed by the teacher or intervention specialist Support students with daily tasks such as organization, transitions, and lesson engagement Supervise students in classrooms, hallways, cafeterias, playgrounds, and during arrival or dismissal Help maintain a safe, respectful, and positive learning environment Follow established lesson plans, behavior plans, and safety procedures Communicate clearly with teachers, staff, and administrators Record student observations or incidents as required Required Qualifications Must be at least 18 years of age High school diploma or equivalent required Valid educational aide permit or higher teaching license (as required by state regulations) Clean criminal background check Ability to work with children in a patient, supportive, and professional manner Strong communication and interpersonal skills Ability to follow directions and adjust to different classrooms and student needs Physical ability to assist students as needed (e.g., mobility support, classroom tasks) Adherence to the Licensure Code of Professional Conduct for Ohio Educators Preferred Qualifications Experience working with children, particularly in educational or childcare settings Previous experience supporting students with disabilities Training in behavior management or de-escalation techniques What We Offer Flexible scheduling options Opportunities to build experience in education and student support Potential for long-term substitute assignments Pathways to other school-based opportunities Options for limited medical benefits Enrollment in the School Employees Retirement System (SERS) For more information about Dedicated School Staffing, please visit our website:
