Position Title: Substitute Educational Aide Location: Coshocton City Schools / Coshocton, OH Employment Type: As Needed / Part-Time / On-Call Pay Rate: $14.56/Hour About the Role Dedicated School Staffing is seeking reliable and compassionate Substitute Educational Aides to support students and teachers when regular staff members are absent. This role is essential in maintaining a safe, supportive, and productive learning environment. Substitute aides assist with classroom activities, provide individualized support, and help ensure continuity of services across both general and special education settings. Key Responsibilities Assist classroom teachers with instruction, activities, and supervision Provide one-on-one or small-group support to students, including those with special needs Carry out accommodations and modifications as directed by the teacher or intervention specialist Support students with daily tasks such as organization, transitions, and lesson engagement Supervise students in classrooms, hallways, cafeterias, playgrounds, and during arrival or dismissal Help maintain a safe, respectful, and positive learning environment Follow established lesson plans, behavior plans, and safety procedures Communicate clearly with teachers, staff, and administrators Record student observations or incidents as required Required Qualifications Must be at least 18 years of age High school diploma or equivalent required Valid educational aide permit or higher teaching license (as required by state regulations) Clean criminal background check Ability to work with children in a patient, supportive, and professional manner Strong communication and interpersonal skills Ability to follow directions and adapt to different classroom environments and student needs Physical ability to assist students as needed (e.g., mobility support, classroom tasks) Adherence to the Licensure Code of Professional Conduct for Ohio Educators Preferred Qualifications Experience working with children, particularly in educational or childcare settings Previous experience supporting students with disabilities Training in behavior management or de-escalation strategies What We Offer Flexible scheduling options Opportunities to build experience in education and student support Pathways to other school-based opportunities Potential for long-term substitute assignments Options for limited medical benefits Enrollment in the School Employees Retirement System (SERS)
