Position Title: Substitute School Food Service Worker
Location: Coshocton City Schools / Coshocton, OH
Employment Type: As Needed / Part-Time / On-Call
Pay Rate: $13.52/Hour
About the Role
Dedicated School Staffing is seeking reliable, hardworking Substitute Food Service Workers to support school nutrition teams when regular staff are unavailable. This role is important in ensuring students receive timely, safe, and nutritious meals each day. Substitute workers assist with meal preparation, serving, kitchen operations, and maintaining a clean and welcoming cafeteria space.
Key Responsibilities
Prepare and portion food according to established menus and guidelines
Serve meals to students in a courteous and efficient manner
Operate kitchen equipment safely while adhering to food-handling procedures
Clean and sanitize kitchen areas, serving lines, and cafeteria spaces
Wash dishes, utensils, trays, and equipment as needed
Set up and break down food stations and serving areas
Follow district nutrition standards, sanitation rules, and safety procedures
Assist with receiving, storing, and organizing food and supplies
Collaborate with kitchen staff and school personnel as needed
Deliver positive customer service to students and staff
Required Qualifications
Must be 18 years of age or older
Clean criminal background check required
Obtain an Ohio ID account and complete enrollment in the Ohio rapback program
Ability to follow instructions and work efficiently in a fast-paced environment
Basic knowledge of food safety and sanitation practices
Ability to lift, carry, and move supplies as needed
Dependability, punctuality, and a strong work ethic
Adherence to the Licensure Code of Professional Conduct for Ohio Educators
Preferred Qualifications
High school diploma or equivalent preferred
Prior experience in food service, cafeteria work, or customer service
Familiarity with safe food-handling practices
Ability to use standard kitchen equipment
