Position Title: Substitute Teacher Location: Coshocton City Schools / Coshocton, OH Employment Type: As Needed / Part-Time / On-Call Pay Rate: $120/Day; $130/Day for Coshocton retirees About the Role Dedicated School Staffing is seeking dependable, flexible, and enthusiastic Substitute Teachers to support schools when full-time teachers are unavailable. This role is key in maintaining continuity of learning by following lesson plans, supporting students’ academic and social growth, and helping maintain a positive classroom environment. Key Responsibilities Implement lesson plans and instructional materials provided by the regular classroom teacher Manage classroom behavior and maintain a safe, respectful learning environment Provide clear instruction and support to students throughout the school day Adapt to a variety of grade levels and subject areas as needed Take attendance and complete required documentation Communicate effectively with school staff and administrators Supervise students during transitions, lunch, recess, or other assigned duties Required Qualifications Must be at least 18 years of age High school diploma or equivalent required Valid substitute teaching license or higher teaching license (as required by state regulations) Clean criminal background check Strong communication and interpersonal skills Ability to follow lesson plans and adapt to different classroom environments Patience, professionalism, and a student-focused mindset Adherence to the Licensure Code of Professional Conduct for Ohio Educators May be required to complete Safe & Engaged training Preferred Qualifications Previous teaching or childcare experience Familiarity with classroom management techniques Experience working with diverse student populations What We Offer Flexible scheduling options Opportunities to build classroom experience Potential for long-term substitute assignments Pathways to full-time teaching opportunities Options for limited medical benefits Enrollment in the State Teachers Retirement System (STRS)
