Position Title: Substitute Educational Aide Location: Pike-Delta-York Local Schools / Delta, OH Employment Type: As Needed / Part-Time / On-Call Pay Rate: $11.61/Hour About the Role Dedicated School Staffing is seeking dependable and compassionate Substitute Educational Aides to support students and teachers when regular staff members are unavailable. This role is essential in helping maintain a safe, supportive, and productive learning environment. Substitute aides provide classroom support, assist with individualized student needs, and help ensure continuity of services across general and special education settings. Key Responsibilities Support classroom teachers with instruction, activities, and supervision Provide one-on-one or small-group assistance to students, including those with special needs Implement accommodations and modifications as directed by the teacher or intervention specialist Assist students with daily routines such as organization, transitions, and engagement in lessons Supervise students in classrooms, hallways, cafeterias, playgrounds, and during arrival or dismissal Contribute to a safe, respectful, and positive learning environment Follow established lesson plans, behavior plans, and safety procedures Communicate effectively with teachers, staff, and administrators Document student observations or incidents when required Required Qualifications Must be at least 18 years of age High school diploma or equivalent required Valid educational aide permit or higher teaching license (as required by state regulations) Clean criminal background check Ability to work with children in a patient, supportive, and professional manner Strong communication and interpersonal skills Ability to follow directions and adjust to different classroom environments and student needs Physical ability to assist students as needed (e.g., mobility support, classroom tasks) Adherence to the Licensure Code of Professional Conduct for Ohio Educators Preferred Qualifications Experience working with children, especially in educational or childcare settings Prior experience supporting students with disabilities Training in behavior management or de-escalation techniques What We Offer Flexible scheduling options Opportunities to gain experience in education and student support Pathways to other school-based opportunities Potential for long-term substitute assignments Options for limited medical benefits Enrollment in the School Employees Retirement System (SERS)
