Position Title: Substitute Lunch/Recess Monitor Location: Green Local Schools / Green, OH Employment Type: As Needed / Part-Time / On-Call Pay Rate: $11.00/Hour About the Role Dedicated School Staffing is seeking reliable and attentive Substitute Lunch/Recess Monitors to support the supervision of students during lunch and recess periods when regular staff members are unavailable. This role helps ensure a safe, positive, and orderly environment while encouraging respectful behavior and healthy social interactions. Key Responsibilities Supervise students in cafeterias, playgrounds, hallways, and other assigned areas Assist with lunch routines, including helping younger students open containers, managing lines, and reinforcing table manners Monitor recess activities to ensure safe play and compliance with school rules Promote positive behavior, redirect conflicts, and support students in problem-solving Maintain cleanliness by encouraging students to clean up after themselves and reporting spills or safety concerns Communicate behavioral, safety, or health-related concerns to teachers or administrators in a timely manner Respond calmly to emergencies and follow established school procedures Collaborate with school staff to maintain a consistent, supportive environment Required Qualifications Must be at least 18 years of age High school diploma or equivalent required Valid student monitor/educational aide permit or higher teaching license (as required by state regulations) Clean criminal background check Ability to remain attentive, patient, and positive in a busy environment Strong communication and interpersonal skills Dependability and flexibility to work on short notice Ability to stand for extended periods and supervise outdoor activities in varying weather conditions Adherence to the Licensure Code of Professional Conduct for Ohio Educators Preferred Qualifications Experience working with children or in school environments Familiarity with school safety procedures and behavior expectations Ability to effectively manage groups of students Work Schedule As-needed, typically during lunch and recess blocks (late morning through early afternoon) Hours may vary based on school needs What We Offer Flexible scheduling options Opportunities to gain experience in student supervision and education settings Pathways to other school-based roles Potential for long-term substitute assignments Options for limited medical benefits Enrollment in the School Employees Retirement System (SERS)
