Position Title: Patron Substitute Teacher Location: Green Local Schools / Green, OH Employment Type: Full-Time / School-Year Position Pay Rate: $125/Day About the Role Dedicated School Staffing is seeking reliable, flexible, and student-focused Patron Substitute Teachers to serve as the daily, on-site substitute for a single school building. This role provides consistent instructional support by covering classrooms as needed, building relationships with students and staff, and ensuring continuity of learning throughout the school year. When not assigned to a classroom, the Patron Substitute assists with academic support, supervision, and other school needs. Key Responsibilities Provide classroom instruction in the absence of the regular teacher, following lesson plans and school expectations Adapt to various grade levels and subject areas throughout the building Maintain a positive, structured, and safe learning environment Support students with instruction, activities, and classroom routines Take attendance, manage classroom behavior, and complete required documentation Communicate effectively with teachers, administrators, and support staff Assist with supervision duties such as hallways, lunch, recess, or arrival/dismissal when needed Provide academic or clerical support during planning periods or when no classroom coverage is required Build rapport with students and contribute to a consistent, supportive school climate Required Qualifications Must be 18 years of age or older Bachelor's degree in any field (non-degreed opportunities available for students in education programs) Valid substitute teaching license or higher teaching license (as required by state regulations) Clean criminal background checks Strong communication and classroom-management skills Flexibility and willingness to work across multiple grade levels and subjects Professionalism, reliability, and a student-centered mindset Ability to follow lesson plans and collaborate with school staff Adherence to the Licensure Code of Professional Conduct for Ohio Educators Preferred Qualifications Prior teaching or substitute teaching experience Experience working with diverse learners Familiarity with school routines, instructional strategies, and behavior supports What We Offer Consistent daily schedule within one school building Opportunities to build teaching experience and develop instructional skills Potential pathways to full-time teaching roles Options for minor medical benefits Enrollment in State Teachers Retirement System (STRS)
